I’ve been a mother for 6 years and there is only one Mother’s Day I remember. I took my son to the diner after church and waited to be waited on for the longest time.
Today was a good Mother’s Day. I got 2 (not one) homemade cards and a picture from my son, a card from my husband. I decided to have a picnic with my family at the park. My husband wanted to go out for dinner, but I told him I wanted to go out on my birthday next week; he is finally off on my birthday. Every year for I don’t know how many years he had to work until 10 pm.
It was nice to be outdoors and to spend time with the family. Christian was able to play, we didn’t have to wait hours for a table, and the park was not crowded – probably because everyone was eating out. It was a good day to enjoy God’s gifts – family, nature, and laughter.
The worst part of the day was studying. I guess you can’t win them all.
